Edmund's Wild Rumpus | A First Birthday Session

For a long time now I have been dreaming of a themed Where the Wild Things Are session. I can't count how many times I've sat with my children in my lap  and read this story over and over. Each of the lines are forever captive in my mind and after a while I started imagining photos to go with each one. I imagined something woodsy with a fur tail and a wild rumpus amount of fun involved. You get the picture. Well, when it came time to choose a theme for my little prince's first birthday party I jumped at the opportunity to make it a Wild Thing event. I mean, I couldn't go wrong- he's my very own little wild thing and certainly the King of my heart

"The night he wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind..."
"And another..."

"His mother called him 'WILD THING'"

"He sailed off through night and day, and in and out of weeks and almost over a year to where the wild things are."
"They called him the most wild thing of all and made him king of the wild things."

"The king of the wild things was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all."
"Then all around from far away across the world he smelled good things to eat so he gave up being king of where the wild things are."

"But the wild things cried,'Oh please don't go- we'll eat you up- we love you so!'"

Andrus Family | 2016

Meet the Andrus family! They're my first official session of 2016 and my very first post on this here blog. What better way to start off the new year/blog than with a session filled with so much laughter? I'm pleased to say that the members of this beautiful family are near and dear to my heart. I've been knowing Luke for about eight years now. I remember when he told me after meeting Katie, "I think she's the one" and he was absolutely right. Now they're married with two adorable little ones. I took their maternity photos when they were pregnant with Anne Claire, we had a family-of-three session last year and it just brings my heart an indescribable amount of joy to take their photos once more, this time to welcome the sweet, sweet King Julian.

So stay a while, scroll a bit, take a look at some of the highlights from their session and I DARE YOU not to have a big old smile on your face while you do so. Their love and their happiness are beyond infectious.
